Prestigious professional organization seeks a skilled and energetic Executive Director to help direct the organization’s continued growth. This is the top executive position of the Miami chapter of the American Institute of Architects, which was established in 1929 and serves architects and allied professionals in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties.
The Executive Director is responsible for executing the Strategic Plan, developing the annual budget and, working constructively with AIA Miami elected leaders and volunteers to enable the responsible and successful administration of chapter programs and governance. Other responsibilities include specific administrative assignments and ensuring that the organization is capably staffed and effectively organized to meet or exceed established goals.
The Executive Director must be adept at articulating AIA Miami’s vision, fostering a collaborative and inclusive organization, shaping programs and services and maintaining strong relationships with a number of internal and external audiences.

Essential Experience and Minimum Required Skills include: minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent; executive level management experience in a highly visible organization within the corporate, association or nonprofit sectors, government and/or architecture or related industries; experience in advocacy on behalf of an organization and its members; government advocacy at a local or state level; clear and effective written and verbal communications skills; and experience in management and oversight of financial resources and budgeting.
